Here’s the lineup of products we think Apple has in store for us in 2022.

1. iPhone SE (3rd Generation)

iPhone SE (2nd generation) was released in April 2020 and retailed at $399. It was quite a steal for its excellent functionality and affordable price, and many people chose to upgrade to it at the beginning of the pandemic.

The next iPhone in the SE series is expected to release in early 2022 and is rumored to be named iPhone SE Plus or iPhone SE (3rd generation). From what we know about the mobile’s design, there aren’t going to be any significant changes.

Some speculate a larger display with an increase in price, while most say that the iPhone is expected to sport the same 4.7-inch display and a single lens at the back. The price is also expected to remain the same, as the most vital attribute of the SE model is its economic rate.

However, there are a couple of potential upgrades that would set the iPhone apart. The iPhone SE Plus is rumored to contain the A15 Bionic chip—the same processor as in the iPhone 13—and the new iPhone SE may come with 5G connectivity.

2. iPhone 14

Rumors surrounding the iPhone 14 began even before the release of the iPhone 13 in September 2021. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from Apple’s next generation of iPhones.

Certain changes might be made to the design, with the top-notch being completely eliminated and replaced by a hole-punch camera, with the tech required for Face ID moving under the display. The iPhone 14 is also expected to be thicker, so there is no rear-camera bump, and all the lenses would be embedded in the rear glass structure.

Some usually accurate sources believe that the iPhone 14 will not come in a 5.4-inch iPhone mini size due to lack of sales. A new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max is expected to replace it, so there will still be a total of four models in the lineup.

Other changes we may see include an A16 Bionic chip, minor camera upgrades (it’s not a new iPhone if there’s no upgrade to the camera, is it?), and a 2TB storage option.

3. AirPods Pro 2

We’re unsure what part of 2022 will see an AirPods Pro 2 release, but it looks promising either way.

The design for the earbuds themselves seems to be similar to its predecessor, but we can expect changes to the case. A few speculate that Apple may decide to remove the stems of the earbuds on the AirPods Pro 2. Some other potential upgrades include improved noise cancellation and better sound quality.

What may turn out to be a major addition is that the AirPods Pro 2 may even have built-in fitness tracking using new sensors. Apart from that, there’s nothing solid that we know about this product. We’ll have to see how this pans out in the next year and if the AirPods Pro 2 can live up to the hype surrounding them.

4. MacBook Air (2022)

The MacBook Air is renowned for being one of the best laptops in the market, and Apple has conventionally stuck to the same pattern of designs regarding them. The MacBook Air (2022) seems like it will be no different, but the prospect of exciting color options, like the iMac, seems to be on the table.

The MacBook Air is also expected to be slimmer, lighter, have thinner bezels for a larger display, better GPU cores and graphics, a mini-LED display, MagSafe charging technology, and more USB-C ports.

While we cannot be sure, the next MacBook Air may launch in the middle of 2022 and is expected to cost more than its predecessor.

5. Mac mini (2022)

Talk around town is that the next Mac mini will receive major performance-based upgrades to make it an extremely powerful computer.

While most of the rumors seem to be up in the air, here’s what the industry is most likely expecting from the Mac mini;:four Thunderbolt ports, a plexiglass top, a magnetic power cord, and an improved version of the M1 Pro processor, which is the same chip that powers the new MacBook Pro.

How Is 2022 Looking for Apple?

Rumors surrounding the iPhone SE Plus, iPhone 14, AirPods Pro 2, MacBook Air (2022), and Mac mini (2022) seem to provide upgrades to all aspects of Apple’s products. With more powerful processors and improvements to pre-existing features, we’re all looking forward to Apple’s next event.
